My
name is Jacquelyn
Robins, and I am an experienced criminal
defense attorney. I am a sole practitioner
assisting people throughout the state of New Mexico from my office in
Albuquerque. When you hire me to represent you, you get me -- your case will
not be handed off to an associate attorney. Contact me.
I have been practicing law for more than 30
years, working mostly as a criminal defense attorney. I have worked in the
state public defenders office and the criminal defense division of New York
Legal Aid Society in the Bronx. I was appointed as Chief Public Defender for
the State of New Mexico in 1985, and served in that position for 6 years. I
resigned in 1991 to return to the courtroom, and have been in private practice
ever since.
In 2005 I was chosen by the New Mexico Criminal
Defense Lawyers Association to receive the Charles Driscoll Award. In 2009 I
was appointed to serve as a voting member representing the Tenth Circuit Court
of Appeals on the Practitioners Advisory Group of the United States Sentencing
Commission. I have also been a member of the Board of Directors for New
Mexico's Innocence and Justice Project since October of 2010.
I defend clients accused of offenses such as:
Felonies
Misdemeanors
Murder
Drugs/Narcotics Offenses
Sex Offenses
Child Abuse and Molestation
Domestic Violence
Weapons & Firearm Charges
Juvenile Offenses
Fraud/Corruption
When you retain me to represent you, I meet with
you to discuss your case, so I can learn how to best defend you. I conduct an
investigation to find out what evidence and witnesses the government has
against you and what evidence and witnesses will help you. As we approach the
trial date, you and I will discuss your options and decide which course of
action works best in your situation. We will make decisions about the motions
that can be filed, and what may happen if the case goes to trial.
I would be happy to discuss your case with you
during a free initial consultation, and see how I may be able to help
you. Contact
me for more information.
